Lansing residents are on the lookout for a stolen car that had a beloved Yorkshire Terrier inside. The theft occurred around 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the Logan Square Plaza. The victim had left the vehicle unlocked and running to keep the dog comfortable while they were inside a store. When they returned, the car, along with the dog, was nowhere to be found.
The Lansing Police Department has launched an investigation into the theft, and Jordan Gulkis, a spokeswoman for the department, confirmed that the search was still ongoing as of Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, there is no information available regarding the make and model of the stolen vehicle at this time.
Pet owners know the heartache and fear that come with losing a furry family member. The thought of a beloved pet being taken in such a way is undoubtedly distressing for the owner and concerning for the community. As such, Lansing residents are urged to keep a lookout for the missing Yorkshire Terrier and report any sightings to the authorities.
This unfortunate incident is also a reminder of the importance of taking precautions to ensure the safety of pets. Leaving a car running and unattended is never a good idea, as it can not only lead to theft but also pose a danger to pets left inside. If you must leave your pet in the car, make sure the doors are locked, and the air conditioning or heat is on, depending on the weather.
In conclusion, the search for the stolen car and Yorkshire Terrier is ongoing, and the Lansing Police Department is urging residents to be vigilant and report any information they may have. The incident is a reminder to pet owners to take necessary precautions to keep their pets safe, even in seemingly safe environments.
Our thoughts are with the owner and their furry family member during this difficult time.
