How Often Should You Bathe Your Yorkie
If you’re a proud owner of a Yorkshire Terrier, you may be wondering how often you should bathe your furry friend. As someone who has owned 5 Yorkies over the years, I have learned a thing or two about proper care and grooming for these lovable pups. In this video, I share some of the advice I have gained through trial and error, so that you don’t have to make the same mistakes.
First and foremost, it’s important to note that Yorkies have sensitive skin, and bathing them too frequently can strip their skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. In general, it’s recommended that you bathe your Yorkie every 2-4 weeks, or whenever they start to smell or get dirty.
When it comes to bath time, it’s important to use a gentle, moisturizing shampoo specifically designed for dogs. I have tried many different products over the years, and have found that a high-quality, natural shampoo works best for my Yorkies’ sensitive skin. It’s also important to avoid getting water and soap in your Yorkie’s ears and eyes, as this can cause discomfort and irritation.
In addition to regular baths, it’s also important to maintain your Yorkie’s coat by brushing them daily. This helps to remove loose hair, dirt, and tangles, and keeps their coat shiny and healthy.
As a proud Yorkie owner, I am always happy to share my expertise and tips with others.
