Shocking Discovery: Your Yorkie’s Love Is Deeper Than You Imagined
We all know that Yorkies are loyal companions and offer us unconditional love. They greet us when we come home, cuddle with us on the couch, and are always there for us when we need them. But did you know that Yorkies also need us for emotional support, just like human toddlers do?

Recent research from Emory University has revealed that dogs are cognitively wired to turn to their owners for emotional support. In fact, when dogs feel scared or anxious, they seek comfort and protection from their owners, much like a child would do. This is in stark contrast to other animals like horses or cats, who tend to run away from people when they are scared.
The study found that dogs are hard-wired to sense and interpret human emotions. They not only understand when their owners are happy or sad but also respond to those emotions in a way that shows empathy and concern. This could explain why dogs and small dogs like Yorkshire Terriers in particular, have become such important companions for people with mental health conditions like anxiety and depression.
It’s incredible to think that our furry friends need us as much as we need them. So the next time your Yorkie comes running to you for protection, remember that they are not just seeking physical safety but emotional comfort and support too. And if you’re feeling down, don’t hesitate to turn to your four-legged friend for some unconditional love and emotional healing.

Even as I write this, my Yorkies are right here next to me, trying to offer their supportive paw.
A lot of people may interpret this as my Yorkies just wanting attention, but as studies have shown it is much deeper than that.
Now that you know this, I hope you will show your Yorkie extra love and support the next time they seem down or fragile – you never know what they are truly thinking!
